Reconciliation
In this section you will find how the gift card reconciliation system works
When a group of merchants with different bank accounts joins the Desjardins Gift Card program, it is strongly recommended to set up a reconciliation account to allow funds transfers that reflect the transactions made with gift cards.
A reconciliation account is used to isolate funds related to the activation of gift cards and redistribute money to the merchant where the card is used to make purchases. Without this account, only merchants performing gift card activations will receive funds and merchants accepting gift cards for products or services will not receive funds.

Reconciliation process
Promotional gift cards
The reconciliation process is the same for promotional gift cards. When a promotional card expires, the funds are returned to the account of the branch that activated the card.
